What is GTA San Andreas?
Grand Theft Auto San Andreas is an open-world action-adventure video game developed by Rockstar Games and released on October 14, 2004, for the PlayStation 2 and Xbox. The game is the sequel to Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and the third title in the Grand Theft Auto series. It was later re-released on October 18, 2005, as a part of the Grand Theft Auto Trilogy box set. The game was also later re-released as part of the Grand Theft Auto: Complete Pack on December 3, 2008, for Microsoft Windows. The base game is a 2D crime epic set in 1992 in Southern California, based on events from Rockstar's 1998 video game release, Grand Theft Auto Vice City. Players play as protagonist CJ “Stretch” Simpson who returns to his hometown of Los Santos after being discharged from military service in order to find that it has been transformed into fictional depictions of 1990s Los Angeles; including familiar locales such as Downtown L.A., Hollywood and even Grapeseed (the studio where CJ worked during the opening sequence).
